OVERVIEW
Holland Park is the largest park in Kensington and Chelsea with large areas of woodland abundant with wildlife.
Erect Architecture designed two bespoke play structures for the site, the Hillcoaster which snakes around existing trees and the Fishermen’s Tower located at the start of the play valley pond providing a vantage point over the site. Erect provided conceptual designs, initial construction drawings, and a series of connection details engineered by Entuitive Engineers. From these Duncan & Grove created a 3D model and detailed construction drawings.
The Fishing Tower was manufactured in our workshop from oak and robinia and was lifted into place using a HIAB and a crane. The Hillcoaster was built on site from robinia. The structure was then inspected by an independent play inspector to ensure it was EN 1176 compliant.
