Jan Kattein Architects were commissioned by Waltham Forest Council to develop a series of hubs along Leytonstone High Road.

One hub was a play space in which Duncan & Grove were commissioned to build a funnel, fan shaped bench and stepping blocks. The funnel was made using a stainless steel frame with robinia cladding. The stepping blocks were made from reclaimed greenheart timber with grip strips used to create various patterns. The bench was made with a steel and timber subframe and robinia cladding.
